Animal Wonders adopted two male chinchillas today. They are young and will need lots of attention. We have not decided on names yet. They were adopted from a home that could no longer care for them. They got to take a much needed roll in some dust and settled right into their new enclosure.
Velvet, the chinchilla, passed away today. She was at the vets trying to fight for her life for the last few days. They were doing everything they could for her. We are still trying to determine her cause of death. May she rest in peace.

We adopted Emma yesterday from a family who couldn't keep her. She looks just like a jungle cat, very neat color. She is making friends with the dogs, Molly and Charlie. Ambros is being nice but keeping his distance because Emma is still unsure about him. She loves to play and today got her first chance to chase bugs in the grass.
Black Dalia has an internal bacterial infection. The vet prescribed antibiotics and we're hoping for improvements in the next few days.
Feeding day for the snakes. Domino was hungry and ate like a champ. It's a cool day with cloud cover. The birds are staying inside until the weather warms up a bit.
Domino laid 8 eggs and has one more inside that may come out when she sheds. She is doing good and so are the eggs.
Domino our corn snake was found with 3 eggs this morning! As we watched she laid 2 more! She is continuing to lay but we won't know how many she will have for awhile. We tucked the eggs into moist substrate in a plastic tupperware to keep them safe and warm. They will stay there for the next 2 months and we'll see what happens then.
