Bindi found her home at Animal Wonders when she was brought into a pet store after the family had kept her for several years. They had purchased her two years previously and the pet store owner was shocked because Bindi looked like she was maybe eight months old. She was malnourished and her growth had been stunted. It came to be known that she was being fed a few crickets once a week. Bearded Dragons need to eat every day as they grow to adulthood. The pet store owner gave her to Animal Wonders where she knew Bindi would get the best care possible and hoped that she would recover.
The store has a happy ending. Upon arrival Bindi received a dozen crickets which she gobbled up as fast as her legs would carry her. Over the next few months she began to fill out and even started to grow again. Luck happened upon her that she retains no internal problems such as Metabolic Bone Disease where they didn't get enough calcium and their bones become soft. Bindi is doing great and she still loves to eat! Crickets, worms, cockroaches, dark greens and veggies. She'll eat it all!
