Copper's Biography
Copper was rescued when we received a call about an orphaned red fox kit. He had bene accidentally closed into someone's garage and separated from his mother. When they discovered him in the garage they opened it immediately, hoping his momma would return, but she did not. Our state laws, unfortunately, do not allow the rehabilitation and release of red foxes, so once Copper came under human care he would not be allowed to return to the wild. Since he was only a few weeks old, he couldn't survive on his own. Which is why he came to live at Animal Wonders in the summer of 2025.
Copper has grown into an absolutely stunning adult fox with a gorgeously shiny and fluffy fur coat. His wild nature is always present and we're respectful of his instincts and personal space. He does tolerate humans that he's known for a long time and he's come to trust a few of his favorites. We're so excited to be able to share him with audiences, though he does prefer groups that are on the smaller and quieter side. Copper's favorite thing to eat is bugs, but he'll settle for apple slices or dog treats as well. HIs best friend is Lumi the arctic fox and he acts like her little brother, always wanting to play and trying to steal her toys.
