George's Biography

George came to live at Animal Wonders in the spring of 2023. He was middle aged and had been living at a zoo in Kansas for several years. When his welfare was assessed by new management, they decided that his life could be improved and the large enclosure they had for skinks was already occupied. They contacted us asking if we were interested in providing him the benefit of a higher quality of life and in turn get to share him and his story with our audiences. George is a very special kind of lizard, and we had a large habitat with trees and many branches ready for him to enjoy, so we said yes!
