Dusty, rest in peace little one.

It's been a rough few weeks here at Animal Wonders. After we lost Jade, the legless lizard, Dusty the chinchilla became ill. After a week of medication and critical care for the little guy, he passed away at the vet's office.

The hardest part about sharing our lives with animals is the fact that the majority of them live only a fraction of the time a human does. So even the healthiest animal will eventually come to the end of their life, and we must carry on and keep their stories alive in memory. When dealing with rescues, there are many underlying problems that can arise unexpectedly. It is our job to give them the best care we can and try to undo any damage from their previous life. Dusty had a rough start but we can feel comfort knowing he enjoyed that last year of his life, even if it was cut too short. We will miss Dusty, but his brother Ash will miss him much more.
