Sunny's Biography

Sunny came to Animal Wonders in August 2011. He was surrendered from his owners who had adopted Sunny a year previously and had intended to make him a part of the family. They did the best they could and tried to give Sunny the proper care and attention. Unfortunately, he was not in good health when they took him in and needed extra special care that a first time bird owner would find very hard to provide. Sunny has a malformed beak, nares, and eyes. We are not sure if he was born this way (from poor genetics or nutrition) or if he was malnourished as he grew and became an adult. However it happened, Sunny now needs a special fortified diet and constant beak trimmings to get him as healthy as possible. He may never look like a perfect parrotlet, but he's going to be a shinning start at Animal Wonders!
