Sampson's Biography
Sampson came to Animal Wonders just after Halloween 2017. He's thought to have hatched close to May 2017, so he was close to 6 months old when he arrived.
Sampson is still getting used to being in close contact with humans. Savannah monitors are quite smart and can learn to recognize human faces. We'll be working on establishing trust over the next couple months. Once he's comfortable being handled, he can join us on public presentations. Until then, he'll be enjoying delicious meals of cockroaches, worms, beetles, small birds, and an occasional rodent. Yum.
